| 内容記述 | This study aimed to examine how first-year students use university libraries and to identify an effective approach to increase their usage thereof as an academic skill. An online questionnaire was administered to 1041 first-year students at Fukuoka Institute of Technology in July 2022. A total of 647 questionnaires were analyzed. The results revealed that 52.9% of the participants found that the introductory lecture on the use of the library with regard to career education was overall useful, and 54% rarely or never used the library in the previous semester. It is recommended that individuals’ attributes of engagement with information literacy should be explored further. | |||||
