Two types of information retrieval systems on the internet have been considered. The first, such as Lycos, Alta Vista, use automated WWW robot to built an index database for a part of the WWW and provide an interface for searching information. The second are what called as client-based search tools, such as Fish-Search¹l²l, which do on-line searching on the WWW. In our previous paper⁷l, we have discussed some search hueristics and strategies for implementing client-based search tools on large hypertext system such as the WWW.
