In order to use the PCD as a grinding tool, you need to flatting and smoothing the tool surface. Therefore, an attempt was made to develop a laser smoothing techniques for PCD grinding tool using femtosecond pulsed laser that can high speed. It was confirmed that cobalt and diamond contained in PCD could be processed without distinction by using femtosecond pulse laser.
