In this paper, one proposes the idea of using a flexible rope, which can be freely followed by the robot. In addition, by using a yellow and black striped pattern on the rope, one calculates the travel distance. Information concerning the travel distance was wirelessly relayed to a personal computer, and in this manner the positional status of the robot can be displayed on the screen. As a result, a simple robot with high travel flexibility was successfully
