| 内容記述 | In this study, we investigated students’ engagement by assigning homework that did not count towards their grades and providing an environment where they could choose their approach towards learning. As a result, 26.8% of students engaged in non-compulsory homework while 7.7% did not engage due to its non-compulsory nature. Additionally, we found that about half of the participants decided to engage with the non-compulsory homework based on their own understanding of the course material. Further analysis of these decisions revealed that the difficulty of the homework had various impacts on engagement,indicating once again the importance of assigning homework while considering students’ diverse levels of understanding. It remains a future task to determine the effective quantity, quality, and approaches towards engagement for homework. | |||||||
